Railway Origins and Popular Passion
Rapid Bucharest was founded on June 25, 1923, by a group of railway workers, under the name “CFR București.” The objective was clear: to represent the working class in a sport that was then elitist. From the beginning, Rapid adopted a combative character, winning the affection of the working classes of Bucharest.
Its first large stadium, Giulești, was built in the 1930s and became a stronghold of railway identity.
There, the first titles were won and a special relationship with its fans was forged: passionate, loyal, and with a rebellious spirit. Building history from the ground up.
