Origin and History of Juventus
Founded on November 1, 1897, by a group of students from Turin, Juventus F.C. is one of the oldest and most decorated clubs in Italy. Its name, which means "youth" in Latin, reflected the youthful spirit of its founders. It soon established itself as a symbol of northern Italian football. In its early years, Juve wore pink shirts, but in 1903 they adopted the black and white striped shirt inspired by Notts County of England, thus giving birth to the “Old Lady”.
